your outdoor Deck
Your new deck is built, now it's time to add the
accessories to personalize your deck even more. The
sky's the limit, you can surround your deck with a choose of
brevities.
Here are 11 tips to make your
deck the best it can be.
1. Flowers and Plants
always add Beauty
Flowers definitely add many colors complementing your
deck. Also don't forget the various kinds of planters
or window boxes to house your flowers. Ever thought of
building your planters with leftover composite decking
materials? It really works good and will match your
deck.
2. Herb Garden
Before planting your garden, make sure the spot you
choose receives sunshine the majority of the time. Plant
most any thing such as tomatoes, carrots, or??? Very
tasty accessory.
3. Deck Lighting tastefully
done
Low voltage lights placed in an organized fashion such as
a path offer that certain ambiance. Can be used
throughout your landscape while in the evenings accentuating
your beautiful deck.
4. Outdoor Fire on the Deck
Most people enjoy the effect of a warm cozy outdoor fire
at night. Outdoor fireplaces come in many shapes and
styles enabling you to enjoy your deck experience year
round.
5. Water Fountain very soothing
Love the sound of running water? Animals seem to
like it too. For the DIY project, this one is very easy.
A fountain consists of a filter, pump, tub or some type of
container that is waterproof. Enjoy the relaxing sound
and flow of water while on your deck.
6. Drip irrigation system
Save this time for other things, by installing a drip
system or buying a planter or window box already plumbed
with a drip system, ready for attaching to the water source.
Next hire a landscaper or handyman to install the drip
system or do it yourself. Most hardware stores and
Home Depot provide you with instructions on how to install a
Drip system. It's not too hard to do.
7. Create a bug-free atmosphere
Friends and Family welcomed, but not bugs. . Try this
tip; have your lawn or area around the deck sprayed with a permethrin-based mosquito spray.
Along with that try using a bug repellent that contains DEET.
8. Music and Entertainment for your Dining Pleasure
Use of a good stereo system and well placed speakers
creates an atmosphere for your deck and the surrounding
area. This will entail running some electric (a well
placed extension cord) and speaker wire. Leave out that huge
boom box.
9. Internet wireless Network
Why not work on your computer outdoors too, thereby
extending your time outdoors. Fresh air, plants and
the outdoors can revitalize a person's soul and work
production.
10. An Outdoor Kitchen
The smell of a good steak cooking or even chicken kabobs
is always a rewarding experience. Create an outdoor
kitchen; Allow for the necessary hookups such as
electric, gas and water for that new kitchen. The area
you choose for this should be one that has less exposure to
the elements and especially the wind.
11. Outdoor Party Lightning
There are many options and styles to choose from to
create a pleasant atmosphere through lightning. Also
available are solar, tiki torches ,Asian silk and paper
lanterns. Do some homework to find out what's best for
you.
