Vinyl Decking

Installation of vinyl deck systems typically includes; deck
boards, rails, spindles and fascia. It requires no maintenance, no
painting or finishes of any kind. Vinyl Decking will not crack or
splinter while being resistant to uv rays.
Vinyl decking is both fire and water resistant ,that’s one of
the reasons it’s used to make shower curtains and raincoats . It's
also very easy to work with. Over 14 billion pounds of PVC are
currently produced per year in North America. Approximately 75% of
all PVC manufactured is used in construction materials.
It's surface is safe to walk on in the rain or sunshine, because
of its slip-resistant finish and also resistance to heat build-up.
Fastening system can be hidden as planks are installed . Usually
Vinyl Decking comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The
manufactures that stand out as the best vinyl decking are manufactured by
DreamDeck, Kroy and EZ Deck.
Disadvantages: Can be expensive. The long
term effect on vinyl, is that it can fade and or get brittle with
time
unless specially treated at the factory, so do your research . Pay
attention to the warranty and how it is manufactured. Also all
vinyl eventually loses its gloss.
Availability: Kroy deck planks come 8 in. wide, DreamDeck
planks are 5 1/2 in. wide and EZ Deck planks are 4 or 6 in. wide.
Find a distributor to order Vinyl Decking.
When ordering choose skid-resistant planks, usually in a variety
of colors. Again do your research and look for non fade treatments
like the one used by EZ Deck.
Install by cutting to length with a circular saw; Plank ends are
covered with vinyl caps. .
Estimated Cost: About $14 per square foot installed for
Kroy, $19 for DreamDeck and $23for EZ Deck, not including Deck
